Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space - Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, the sequel to Strange Adventures in Infinite Space, is a hybrid strategy/adventure computer game created by the independent game development group, Digital Eel. In the game players explore a fictional yet plausibly implausible region of the Milky Way galaxy called The Purple Void.
The Milky Way (1940 short film) - The Milky Way is a one-reel animated cartoon short subject, produced in Technicolor and released to theatres in 1940 by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer. The short, produced and directed by Rudolph Ising with musical supervision by Scott Bradley, explores the adventures of the "three little kittens who lost their mittens", as they explore a dreamland where space is made up entirely of dairy products (for example, the Milky Way is made of milk and the moon is made of cheese).
Ambient space - The ambient space, in mathematics, is the space surrounding a mathematical object. For example, a line may be studied in insolation, or it may be studied as an object in two-dimensional space -- in which case the ambient space is the plane, or as an object in three-dimensional space -- in which case the ambient space is three dimensional.
Full-Sky Astrometric Mapping Explorer - Full-sky Astrometric Mapping Explorer (FAME) was a proposed space telescope, planned for launch in 2004, designed to obtain highly precise position and brightness measurements of 40 million stars. This database was to allow astronomers to accurately determine the distance to all of the stars on this side of the Milky Way galaxy, detect large planets and planetary systems around stars within 1,000 light years of the Sun, and measure the amount of dark matter in the galaxy from its influence on stellar motions.
